What you will be doing:

The Family Centre is seeking an Information Technology Specialist with proficient organizational and collaboration skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You have a good grasp on and aptitude for Object-Oriented Programming and have the capacity to work both independently and in integrated teams. The successful candidate will be part of a team supporting the technology needs of our organization by providing ongoing support and training to end users with a primary focus on Windows Server, Windows Desktop, MS Office, Google Workspace, Office 365 and associated applications, as well as a custom in-house database system. End users you will be supporting are located both in our main office in downtown Edmonton, as well as other locations within the Edmonton Region that are off-site from our main office.

  • On-Site and Remote Technical Support for Windows OS, computer deployment, user setup for domain access, Google Workspace, Office 365 and Android phones
  • Maintaining Windows Server based network including routers, firewalls, and switches
  • Maintain Avaya based IP phone system
  • Creation and maintenance of Google Java Scripts to support Google Forms, Sheets & Docs
  • Creation of Visual Basic automation for both MS Excel and MS Word.
  • End user support for our custom in-house database system
  • Assist in analyzing IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of Technology
  • Work with staff to improve cyber security awareness

What you will bring to the role:

  • Technical diploma or equivalent employment experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2019 or later
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Skilled in Visual Basic & Java Script coding
  • Experience troubleshooting systems
  • Experience training others is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Background Check Process & Requirements:

  • As a part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers. 
  • Police Information Check Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)
  • Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months)
