Relationships, whether they be with romantic partners, friends, family members, or co-workers, are an important part of leading a healthy and fulfilling life.

Some relationships help bring out the best in you, while others may leave you feeling unsafe, hurt, angry, or insecure. It’s not always easy to determine which relationships are serving you well and how to fix the ones that are broken.

Healthy Relationships Group Therapy

We offer 16-week group therapy sessions for women and men experiencing challenges in relationships.

This program focuses on eliminating violence and abuse and attaining more fulfilling relationships and a balanced life with less conflict. It will help you enhance your well-being by showing you how to develop healthier relationship skills based on your own personal values and what you want your life to be. 

What is covered?

These therapy sessions consists of the following four modules, which can be taken in any order. Each module is covered over four weeks, making this a 16-week program.

  1. Self-awareness and self-management
  2. Conflict management and communication skills
  3. Core beliefs, values, and life balance
  4. Power in relationships and impacts of stereotypes

Who can attend?

Anyone aged 18 or over who is experiencing challenges in relationships. 

This group is suitable for a variety of life situations, including domestic violence. Men and women meet in separate groups.

What will I learn?

  • Recognize the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to respond
  • Effectively communicate in your relationships
  • Implement flexible and appropriate boundaries
  • Understand how your relationship with yourself impacts all your relationships
  • Recognize the role that power plays in relationships
  • Be more confident when resolving conflict

How much does it cost?

The cost is $200 per module.

Subsidies may be available based on our sliding scale. We will complete a fee assessment for you after you have attended an information session

When and where is it offered?

  • Group for men is offered Wednesdays, 6 - 7.30 PM
  • Group for women is offered Tuesdays, 6 - 7.30 PM
  • The groups meet online to help limit the spread of COVID-19
  • New participants can start after attending an information session and an interview with a facilitator to gather background information and set personalized goals
