United Way Funded Partner Campaign Award Winner
Each year, more than 450 workplaces across the Alberta Capital Region run their own United Way employee giving campaigns. These campaigns inspire donors and volunteers to support our community’s most vulnerable, including those living in poverty, and raise much-needed funds that benefit children, families, and seniors.
At the end of every campaign season, the United Way presents a series of awards that recognize individuals and groups' exceptional work done in our community. We are so honoured to have won this year’s Funded Partner Campaign Award! The award goes to the United Way Funded Partner that showed outstanding commitment, dedication, and creativity executing their employee giving campaign.
As a United Way funded partner, we can tackle some of our communities’ most difficult challenges by providing critical support through
- our FREE drop-in counselling and subsidized goal-oriented counseling
- 8 All In For Youth schools
- mental health supports in 48 schools through therapy and our success coaches
- our Neighbourhood Empowerment Team by creating opportunities to develop community and youth safety
For our 2021 campaign, we emphasized education and awareness of The United Way. At this year’s kick-off, we created a spin wheel where staff could answer trivia questions and test their United Way knowledge. Many of our staff kept spinning until they got an answer right! We also set up a United Way photobooth where staff could take their photo after donating and post them to social media.
Our committee efforts to educate and inspire helped us exceed our financial goal and gain more participation than expected. That shows that The Family Centre staff are invested in the United Way and understand the importance of donating. Our ongoing communication, messaging, and determination helped us succeed in a primarily digital campaign with staff dispersed throughout Edmonton. In the face of uncertainty, we achieved our highest number of donations ever!
“I know that by supporting the United Way, I am able to support the good work that my colleagues and I are doing so that we can keep doing it. I believe in the work we do.”
We strive to create meaningful connections with our staff during our campaign, who all have a profound commitment to making our community better, one individual, one family at a time.
Being a funded partner of the United Way helps us continue to guide families and youth down a path of recovery, healing, and success. Our yearly campaign highlights the partnership that helps make a lot of our work in the community possible.
We are so proud to be a part of The United Way and to support the campaign!
