Grieving Through Art: An 8-Week Support Group

Grieving a loss can be painful, but you don’t have to go through it on your own. We’re here to support your process and provide you with a transitional space to figure out the next steps of your healing journey. In this therapeutic support group, you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours associated with the loss of a loved one by death, separation, and even pet loss.

You will engage in creative and mindfulness activities, conversations, and monitor therapeutic change as you companion with others throughout the group.

The group will have a maximum of 8 participants.

The group is facilitated by two intern therapists who are completing their Master’s degree in counselling, clinical social work, psychology, or related field.

Who can attend?

Anyone aged 18 or over, who is looking for a safe environment to:

  • Process their loss of a loved one
  • Honour the continuing bonds they may have with them through symbolic meaning-making
  • Gain a more comprehensive understanding of grief and how it influences your sense of identity

When and where is it offered?

The group meets weekly on Saturdays, 10 AM - 12 PM (noon) at 9912 - 106 Street.
